And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmer worm, my great army which I sent among you. 26 and ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. 27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed. Joel 2:25-27

Brethren, the beginning of the year, as we all know, is usually a time of deep reflection, goal setting, and expectations. Were there certain occurrences in the lats one year which you never anticipated but have left a dark and unpleasant spot in your memory? Were there certain losses, tangible and intangible, that you sustained and you wished that these had not happened to you? Do you wish that certain chapters of your family, marriage, business and spiritual life are permanently closed? Have your goals and expectations in the past one year or so been dashed and you are completely devasted and finding it difficult to recover from their effects? Many of us are still wallowing in the mud of these “disappointment” and wish we could rewrite the story and turn it around on our own. Yet it is an indisputable fact that God is a God of time and season and he has created time for everything under the heaven and will fulfill all that he has promised at his appointed time [Ecc3:1-8]. No man can run ahead of God’s program and timing and with him, we do know that all things are will turn out for good as His children at the end of the day Rom8:28. Moreover and most assuredly, He says we should position ourselves this month for his DIVINE RESTORATION. This will be our experience in Jesus name.

This literally means “to return to original position, bringing back what existed before or restitution of something taken away from or lost”. One remarkable and instructive incident in the bible which serve as a guide to how God can bring restoration upon us is recorded in 1 Sam 30:1-19.David and his men’s family had been taken away captive by the Amalekite warriors but after consulting the Lord, through Priest Abiatha, [V8].And David enquired at the Lord, saying shall I pursue, after the troop? , shall I overtake them, and he answered him, pursue, for thou shall surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. ,

For us to secure the much-desired divine restoration this year, we must take a cue from steps  that David took. What are they?

Believe in the  Lord your God, so shall ye be established ;believe his prophet, so shall ye prosper.2 Chron.20:20b

God has placed into every life of a prophet who is to bring His divine message to us. Our pastors and those feeding us spiritually are the agents God has chosen to guide us. They are our compass, and as God has declared for us in our Ministry that this year is our year of Rising Sun, it means that our sin shall no more go down and we will not loose anything whatsoever [Isaiah 60:20].David recognize this in his challenge moments; we must  emulates David’s attributes and hold on tenaciously to God’s word when confronted with similar challenges…

…….Pursue :for thou shall surely overtake them, and without fail recover all [2 King 30:8b]

To be able to actualize the prophetic statement given to David to pursue, to overtake and recover it all, he took practical steps by obeying what he was told to do. As a child of God, for you to have divine restoration, you must follow God’s own manual of restoration, not yours. You need to arise as instructed in Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of LORD is risen upon thee. This year you cannot afford not to rise, you must arise from your past failures, frustration and disappointment to put the devil to shame.

David has virtually lost everything he had to Marauding Amalekites; their village totally burnt, children and women, including his two wives carried away. Yet David still showed kindness to and abandon Egyptian maid who at the point of death…..and they found and Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water; 1 Sam 30:11.This act  of kindness and mercy to this lad was what eventually led to the recovery of David’s losses. No matter how bad your situation may be, don’t concentrate on yourself alone or ignore other people needing your help. You will be amazed hoe God will compensate you for this act.

Do you desire a new lease of life? Are you overwhelmed with the burden imposed on you by past losses or present circumstances? Are seeking a fresh and closer relationship with God or want to be restored from your backslidden state? Are ashamed of your situation and you are no more comfortable walking out freely because of the reproach around you? Are your losses so great and you feel it is not just possible to recover and start al over again? Listen and hear what God is saying to you…. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmer worm, my great army which I sent among you. 26 And ye shall eat in plenty ……..and my people shall never be ashamed. Joel 2:25-27

Brethren, God knows what you are going through and he wants to make you a testimony this year but he you to co-operation by your obedience and action. He knows your pains, what you have lost in life, your past mistakes, lost opportunities and investment yet he says he will restore to you all that has been lost. He says: Remember ye not former things, neither consider the things of the old… I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth;….. I will even make a way in the wilderness. Isaiah 43:18-19. Don’t allow the disappointment of the previous year to stop you from rising. Always stand on the promises   of God, and without fear, you will recover all. Do not allow faith in God to shake as you move into your season of restoration. He is set to open a new chapter for you.

Do you know that divine restoration is always followed by praises, abundance, peace, joy and celebration? This month, you will enjoy the mercies and grace of God, you shall eat in plenty and be satisfied. You mouth shall be filled with laughter and you will praise the name of Lord your God. with all this in place for you, affliction shall not rise the second time in Jesus Name. This is the promise of the Lord for you, Amen!
